The Journey to Adulthood is a youth ministry program using Bible study, prayer, rites of passage, outreach and both serious and playful activities. The program is rooted in two principles. First, that God created men and women in God's image, therefore manhood and womanhood are free gifts from God. Second, adulthood must be earned.
In Rite 13, part of the J2A program designed for youth ages 11-13, we celebrate the unique identity of each, while encouraging the development of their creative potential withing a Christian community. The whole parish community celebrates the passage from childhood towards adulthood during the Eucharist (Holy Communion) with a liturgy called "Rite 13©." Rite 13 will be inaugurated at St. Clement's on January 24th.
